What are the options for building a website?

The conventional way to build a website is to either:

1) Find a website designer to build a website for you.

Cross your fingers and hope that they will be available when you need to build more content into your website, or update the existing content.

2) Learn to use Frontpage or Dreamweaver and build a website yourself

Rest assured that it will and take far longer than you expected to build a website. Not being an expert at building websites, the website you build will probably not work too well, it won't be search engine friendly and will it take a lot longer to load than is should do. It will also lack most of the features that make a website easy to navigate and a pleasure to use. 

Your friends and family might wonder at how you managed to build a website (that "sort of works" given that you are a beginner ...).

Given that it was such a pain to build a website in the first place, you will probably never get around to updating it.

As you can guess, we don't think either method is a good way to build a website, especially if you need it to bring in business for you.

To build a website properly takes more than one person. You need a good graphic designer to give a "look and feel" for your website that's appropriate to your business. You need a skilled HTML coder to build the framework for your website content and make your website fly down the wires. You'll need an experienced programmer to build the functionality you require.
